In partnership with expert workgroups, we developed assessment tools to provide a comprehensive process for evaluating private wells, springs, and onsite wastewater treatment systems for public health risks based on geology, system construction, site factors, practices, and nearby land use.
These tools are designed to support water and environmental health professionals who work directly with private well and onsite wastewater treatment system owners to provide education, outreach, and technical assistance in managing their drinking water and onsite wastewater systems.
